HBO’s Succession is one of the most popular streaming series of the year. Now you have the chance to live like a Roy – the dynasty at the center of the show – as two of the show’s famous apartments are for sale.
Succession?
The series Succession is currently in its fourth season and for those who missed it, we offer a short but spoiler-free summary, which does not do the series any justice.
At the center of the series is the dysfunctional Roy family, headed by Logan Roy (some say loosely inspired by Rupert Murdoch), and their media empire Waystar-Royco.
As Logan Roy’s health fails, the power play between his children Ken(dall), Roman, Shiv (Shioban) and Connor Roy over who will take over their father’s empire begins. The family is also surrounded by girlfriends, wives, cousins and executives from the family business – and Alexander Skarsgård as a tech entrepreneur in a more stylish version of Daniel Ek-meets-Elon Musk.
The intrigue, the sharp elbows, the beautiful life and the beautiful clothes have built a growing fan base around Succession. The show has even gotten its own Instagram accounts like Succession Fashion, where you can get all the info on the clothes Ken, Roman, and Shiv wear in the latest episode, Kendall Roy Looking Sad, which explores all the ways Kendall Roy looks sad in the show, and No Context Succession, which celebrates the show’s hard-boiled language.
Live like a Roy
Two of the show’s stunning Manhattan apartments are now up for sale.
At 180 East 88th Street on the Upper East Side, Kendall Roy has his penthouse apartment of more than 500 m2. The apartment is housed in a newly built skyscraper which, at 150 meters, is one of the tallest in the area. Inspired by Manhattan’s art deco buildings, the skyscraper is clad in gray brick with several distinctive arches.
The apartment is arranged on three floors with a beautiful spiral staircase connecting the levels. The apartment also includes over 300 m2 of roof terraces, including one at a height of almost 150 meters with uninterrupted views of northern Manhattan. The building is also equipped with a gym, basketball court and playroom (!).
The price? A cool 29 million dollars.
Younger brother Roman Roy’s penthouse is also for sale, a little further down at 200 Amsterdam Avenue. This apartment is almost 600m2 on two levels, also with almost uninterrupted views of Central Park from the 49th and 50th floors.
In contrast to Roman Roy’s personality, the apartment is relatively austere and elegant, characterized by marble, glass and wood. The building includes a fitness center with a saltwater pool, a golf simulator, a private bar with a grand piano for residents, and a playroom for children. All for 38 million dollars.
Who knew that both Ken and Roman were so concerned about the availability of educational play spaces?
For the rest of us: Waystar-Royco merch
For those who love the show but won’t be buying a Succession apartment, HBO has also been kind enough to offer Succession merchandise.
How about a Waystar-Royco whiskey set, coffee mug or fleece vest? Or maybe a T-shirt with the quote “ You can’t make a Tomelette without breaking some Greggs”?
